Friday, Apr. 20

On April 20th, Gimp Guy Underground will be hosting a different kind of show at Basement Transmissions — one that's being described as "mixed genre musical mayhem" and "a little weird, a little different and a lot of fun!"

The inaugural "Light It Up" show will feature a total of five performers: The Stormalong Scoundrels, Revelation, Survivors, Sudden Frost and goo, who released their latest demo (or, in their words, "album preview") just last summer. Between them, these artists cover a vast expanse of genres ranging from "pirate folk punk" to "doom surf grunge rock" and even blackened death/thrash metal. This is an all ages event with doors opening at 6 p.m., and as always, guests are encouraged to enjoy the snack bar and consider supporting the bands. — Aaron Mook

6 p.m. to 11 p.m. // 145 West 11th Street // $7
