Thursday, Feb. 20 – 23

A bunch of kids with some talent, purpose, and a whole lot of pluck.

A cantankerous theater owner looking to stop them in their tracks.

An ex-child star, an overbearing stage mother, and a hack playwright stirring things up all along the way.

Put them all together — and add in what's been long considered one of the greatest scores ever written — and you have the quintessential "Hey kids, let's put on a show!" musical: Babes in Arms.

That world-famous Rodgers & Hart show — which first debuted on Broadway way back in 1937 — must go on, of course. And it will, as the Mercyhurst University Theatre Program concludes its 2019-20 season in true classic style with its very own production of Babes.

Directed by Dr. Brett D. Johnson and under the musical direction of Andrew Rainbow, the season-capping show premieres Thursday, Feb. 20 and continues for one weekend only through Sunday, Feb. 23 at Mercyhurst's Taylor Little Theatre.

Hey kids (and everyone else): Let's go to a show. — Ryan Smith
