PA Health Dept. Reports Four COVID-19 Deaths This Week

68 new cases were reported as case levels continue to drop

The PA Health Department has the total number of COVID-19 deaths at 749 with four reported this week. The Erie County Department of Health lists a total of 795 deaths, with one occurring this week. 

The number of cumulative cases in Erie County is now 56,958, according to the PA Department of Health.

In the last week, there have been 68 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Erie County According to the PA Department of Health, down from last week's 78 cases reported, with 113 the week prior, and 153 the week before that. 

Over the last seven days, there has been an average of nearly 10 cases per day (down one per day from last week's data). 

This total, of course, does not include individuals who have tested positive via at-home testing kits, and only reflects the numbers of officially reported cases. 

There are currently 21 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in Erie County, with no patients requiring the use of a ventilator.

As of now, there are 155,723 Erie County residents who have been fully vaccinated (up 234 from last week), with 24,603 having received their first dose (down 40), and 75,382 who have received a booster shot (up 2,052).

State, Local, and National Statistics

Pennsylvania now has 2,780,481  cases of COVID-19, for a weekly increase of 4,179. 

So far, there have been 44,260 deaths statewide, with 145 occurring this week, and 1532 last week. 

According to the CDC, the US has a total of 79,853,683 cases. There have been 22,006 new cases in the last 24 hours, and 176,563 cases in the last 7 days. 

The total number of deaths in the US is 971,212, with 939 in the last 24 hours, and 5,017 in the last week, with 6,381 last week. 

As for updates in our nearby counties, Crawford County has 19,726 positive cases (up 14 since last week), with 314 deaths (up one this week). 

McKean County has 8,165 total positive cases (up nine) and 138 deaths (no change). 

Venango County has 11,231 total positive cases (up four) and 236 deaths (no change). 

Warren County has 7,321 total positive cases (up 14), and 208 deaths (no change).
