The Peak Sets Hope on the Slopes

Peek'n Peak raises money for the American Cancer Society

Sunday, Mar. 7

Put on some purple and head to Peek'n Peak to support the American Cancer Society as part of their Hope on the Slopes event.

This all-day event is packed with activities, with a portion of the proceeds going to the American Cancer Society. Last year, Hope on the Slopes was able to donate almost $5,000.

Wear purple to the Peak and get $5 off an all-day lift ticket and ski all day or participate in other ways. There will be information about cancer prevention and early detection, as well as Peak Cancer Awareness T-shirts and ribbons available to purchase.

Compete in the NASTAR Ski Race and receive your race time upon completion of the course, seeing where you rank amongst other national participants. Racers are scored using a handicap system that provides a tangible number to represent their abilities and compare them against U.S. Ski Team athletes. Participants will have a chance to receive medals at the end of the day, following the chicken wing competition crowning.

The Chicken Wing Cook-Off "Yuengs n Wings" will take place from noon to 5 p.m. in The Retreat. Eat as many wings as you can and enjoy some Yuengling beer. There will also be auction items there as part of the event. Winners will be announced to wrap up the day.

Register online or stop by and say hi to support a great cause. — Chloe Forbes
