Three Volumes Remain in the French Creek Concert Series

Give back while you sit back and enjoy the sweet sound of summer music

This Saturday marks the second volume in the four-part French Creek Concert series in Meadville. With the proceeds of each volume supporting a different local nonprofit organization, this concert series makes it easy to give back.

Proceeds from this weekend will benefit The Arc of Crawford County, an organization dedicated to promoting and protecting the human rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. It supports their full inclusion and participation in the community throughout their lifetimes.

"We are very grateful for any support we get from the community because our funding doesn't always cover everything we need or want to do so it's always great to have some outside help," said Mark Weindorf, executive director of The Arc.

They plan to put the money towards their ongoing project to revitalize a green space that will promote inclusive community engagement.

"Sometimes people with intellectual disabilities suffer from isolation, so we want to have free activities throughout the year that really include everybody," said Weindorf.

The series takes place at the Voodoo Brewing Co. Production Facility. Great food and tasty beers will be provided all day in their spacious tasting room featuring European-style communal seating. Local craft and handmade vendors will also be on site. A lineup of regional and national musicians will begin at 2 p.m. and will run until 8:30. Expect to rock out this weekend to a variety of jam bands.

Weekend plans already? Mark your calendars for the last half of the series. On Saturday, Aug. 21, volume three of the series welcomes a whole new lineup of musicians with all proceeds benefiting the VA Homeless Veterans Program. The last volume of the series will take place on Sept 25 with proceeds going to the Center of Family Services.
