We welcome you to the Industry, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship Issue, what will become a perennial look at the climate of industry in Erie.

Headlines — aside from saying a lot with a little — generate conversation because they entice and provoke us to read onward. 

Whether we agree or disagree with the publication's expression, we -- if we truly believe that the freedom of press and freedom and speech are essential and vital to the progress of civilization -- must be willing to defend the right to such communication to the very ends of our being.

In short, we need more action, period. Otherwise, like 2014, 2015 will be The Year Of The Gun all over again and calling for bold leadership won't be old hat, it'll be no hat because we've worn thin the brim that's pulled down to shade the eyes of those throughout the city willing to settle for complacency.

There are many talented musicians in Erie -- these three put out the best albums in the last twelve months.
