Erie Blues & Jazz Festival

Friday, August 3, 2018

The Erie Blues & Jazz Festival returns to Frontier Park on August 3, 4 & 5 of 2018. For three days and three nights, the park comes alive with what has proven itself to be the region's most dynamic musical event; this free community event is held rain or shine. The Erie Blues & Jazz Festival, attracting more than 20,000 visitors, features musicians that range from regional favorites to international super-stars. For the second year, we will expand the festival to three days in an effort to feature more local artists, food vendors, filmmakers, and musicians. And, as always, we're excited to feature the same caliber of international Blues & Jazz musicians that you've come to expect from this Erie event. This is a transitional year, as Erie Arts and Culture takes over the production responsibilities for the festival. The 2017 Blues & Jazz Festival concluded with a joint announcement by the Erie Art Museum and Erie Arts & Culture, of the commitment we are making to spearhead a combined arts and music festival that could one day become a multi-venue event. Our goal is to keep outstanding blues and jazz music at the core of a new Erie Art & Music Festival but to also showcase the region's talent in a variety of other art forms. Behind the scenes, the festival's management will also expand. Creator and longtime Festival Director, John Vanco will join the Board of a new organization created to focus solely on the festival. The mission of Erie Arts & Culture is to strengthen the vibrancy and vitality of the Erie Region and enrich the lives of our people through the advancement of arts and culture. The Blues & Jazz Festival is a perfect intersection of all aspects of our mission. The Festival allows us to reach the greatest amount of individuals in a single weekend, where together we can share great art and music.
