Aaron Tveit has amassed an impressive resume of roles from stage to screen, and has won a large number of awards for his genuine talent. Catch him for one night only at Mercyhurst University via MIAC.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 3

Coming to Mercyhurst University's Mary D'Angelo Performing Arts Center is the Tony Award-winning American actor Aaron Tveit. Known around the world for his talented appearances on multiple theatrical platforms, Tveit continues to have a successful and diverse career in movies, television, musicals, podcasts, and more. A few of his recent and notable roles include his work on Broadway in Moulin Rouge, Catch Me if You Can, Next to Normal, Wicked, Hairspray, and Rent.

In addition to his extensive Broadway repertoire, Tveit is also well known for his roles in many television shows including Schmigadoon, American Horror Stories, Braindead, Graceland, and Grease Live. He has also appeared in many guest roles on TV such as The Good Fight, Gossip Girl, The Good Wife, Ugly Betty, and Law & Order: SVU. Tveit has also found great success in many films such as Les Miserables, One Royal Holiday, Out of the Blue, Created Equal, and Undrafted.

From his numerous roles, Tveit has had the opportunity of working with many notable stars including Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman, Kristin Chenoweth, Keegan Michael-Key, Vanessa Hudgens, Pete Davidson, and Julianne Hough.

Tveit has been recognized for the extensive list of achievements he has accrued. He has won a Tony Award and an Outer Critics Circle Award for leading the cast in Moulin Rouge. Additionally, Tveit has been the recipient of the Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Supporting Performance and the Actors Equity Association Clarence Derwent Award for Most Promising Actor in his Broadway performance Next to Normal.

Due to his high level of success, influence on the performing industry, and anointed titles as "Broadway's Favorite Boyfriend," this MIAC performance has drawn a major amount of attention from Aaron Tveit's fanbase, known as the "Tveiter Tots." The theater will be filled with audience members from twenty-five states and three different countries. MIAC Director, Dr. Brett Johnson stated, "The geographical vastness of our audience for Tveit's concert is a testament to his astonishing talent and devoted fanbase but also to how the Mercyhurst Institute for Arts & Culture has become a premier destination for world-class performing arts experiences."

This is not the only performance for which MIAC has had an exceptional turnout from out-of-state audience members. As Johnson stated, "We are definitely developing a national profile." MIAC is sure to have a lineup of performers for their upcoming 2024 season that will draw the attention of many, just as Aaron Tveit's performance has.
