Pittsburgh band No Bad JuJu performs on Friday, June 4, 2021

While keeping things to a soft murmur would seem on par with a place named Whispering Pines Golf Course, outside (singing) voices will be the recommended approach on Friday nights this summer.

Through Labor Day, the Meadville golf course will present its Party at the Pines Summer Concert Series, featuring some of the preeminent cover and tribute bands of Western Pennsylvania, Northeast Ohio, and beyond. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chair or blanket, grab food, wine coolers, and/or beer from the on-site vendors, wiggle their toes in the grass, and enjoy the sounds of classic rock, blues, and country under an open sky. For those who would prefer to leave their chairs at home and embrace a more intimate experience, fire pit seating pods are available for groups of eight and VIP seats can be had right in front of the stage.

The remaining schedule is as follows:

  • June 18: Country cover band Post Road (Cleveland, Ohio)
  • July 2: Pat Benatar tribute band Invincible (Akron, Ohio) and Bon Jovi tribute band Wanted (Cleveland)
  • July 23: Allman Brothers tribute band Revival (Cleveland)
  • Aug. 6: Ted Riser Band (Bath, Ohio) playing hits from Tom Petty, Marshall Tucker, and Neil Young
  • Aug. 20: Woodstock Meadville 2021 featuring Riki Hendrix (Jimi Hendrix tribute from Reno, Nev.), Ball and Chain (Janis Joplin tribute from Elyria, Ohio), and Ted Riser Band (this time playing Woodstock tunes)
  • Sept. 3: Ladies of Blues Night featuring Stamper-Starr Band (Cleveland), The Skyla Burrell Blues Band (Chambersburg, Pa.), and Sadie Johnson (Bloomington, Ind.) — Labor Day fireworks to follow

We can't promise that partying in The Pines (Eastern White Pines, FYI) will tighten up your swing, but it's guaranteed to help you let loose.

7 p.m. // Whispering Pines Golf Course, 15630 Middle Road, Meadville, PA 16335 // $15 general admission, $20 preferred, $70 VIP, $80 VIP Experience (includes $20 food truck voucher redeemable at any one food truck), $240 Fire Pit Seating Pod (8 tickets) // golfwhisperingpines.com
